This website is the culmination of research conducted by Senior Lecturer Tom Aechnter.

Research demonstrated that impartial, objective information about vaccination choices was not available to parents in a clear, easy-to-read format.

Tom Aechtner

Tom Aechtner holds a doctorate from the University of Oxford, a Master of Arts from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta.

Tom is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Queensland. He is also a Westpac Research Fellow, currently examining public perceptions of science. Tom has further developed the open online edX course, AVAXX101: Antivaccination and Vaccine Hesitancy.

Tom is a recipient of the UQ Foundation Research Excellence Award and the author of numerous book chapters and academic journal articles. His latest book is Media and Science-Religion Conflict: Mass Persuasion in the Evolution Wars.
